Hi,
yes. I think so.
LDA 33 = L 142

How long is this fish (size in cm) ? In BEDE atlas is 35 cm, on www.scotcat.com (https://www.scotcat.com) is 15 cm (LDA33 and L142).

Hi,
fishes of the genus Baryancistrus rarely reach their possible size in aquarium.
That means, you can find such huge specimen in Rio Tapajós, their natural habitat, in aquarium they mostly stop growing with about 20 cm.

Hi :hi: ,

your catfish is L 201 = Hypancistrus inspector

Max size 12 - 15 cm.

André

It is a fish of my friend. He said that the fish looks as Peckoltia or Hypancistrus. The fish is similar to his L066 but with little white spots. May be it is Hypancistrus inspector. (Description in store was LDA33.)

Hi,
in doubt normally André should be right, he is the professional.
I´m really not sure any more.
Does the pleco eat plants???

Hi,
yes, I think, there is no doubt, that the fish on the photo is a Baryancistrus sp., LDA 33 = L 142

Walter

But a decision only with a photo is always difficult.
You have postet 2 pictures in Your first post.
If I saw only the second photo, I would say: "100% Baryancistrus sp. Lda 33".
But there is also the first photo, and so I say: "I´m not sure any more" ;)

Hi,

Is this fish on www.amazon-exotic-import.de really LDA33 ?

Yes.

I am pretty sure that the catfish on your pictures is L 201 (Hypancistrus inspector). Can you ask your friend to make pictures from the mouth?

Regards

André

Hi!

When seeing the pictures (specially the first one) my first thought was: L-201
Then Walter said, yes it´s the LDA33 so i was not sure anymore and said nothing, because i´m no specialist and walter for sure knows more about catfishes than me...

Now reading this again and see the words of André, i see that i´m right for more than 90%. So i took the picture and put it against an sure L201 (i hope i was allowed to do this, i deleted the picture from my harddisk after doing this conversion).
I think André is right, when looking at this:

Hi,

nice pictures for comparison, Papa :spze: ... no doubt!

but even without pictures of the mouth/tooth, just have a look at the adiposal fin and compare it with LDA33.... i guess, then you'll see, that André is right.

Greetings,
Rolo

i have now to check some dificults between 201 and 142(lda33)

i check the eyes and the mouth, and i am now sure that your pleco is the l-201.
